Above is the title and a link to a cool podcast about school libraries and their use of technology. I chose to share this because it discusses a topic close to my heart which is integrating technology into classrooms with a librarian as a faciliator. I found this podcast by searching www.everyzing.com. ENJOY!

Generation YES #2

The following link is to a blog called Connect-Ed@TIE that discusses my topic of integrating technology into education and the classrooms. I used http://www.technorati.com/ to search for the blog that I found. The blog has a link to Generation YES that discusses this topic. Here is the link: http://tieteach.blogspot.com/2007/09/generation-yes.html and a short excerpt from the blog:

Generation YES has wonderful technology integration ideas for teachers. Students work with teachers to bring effective technology into the classrooms and libraries. The resulting collaboration provides the students with project-based learning and teachers with on-site, sustainable professional development. It is suitable forElementary, Middle, and High School.

Technology in the Classroom #1

This blog is intended to discuss matters related to secondary school libraries and media centers. I want to explore the possibility of librarians facilitating and implementing the use of technology in schools and in classrooms. All too often, classroom teachers have very little time to integrate technology (i.e. computers, internet, etc...) into their already overloaded curriculum and TAKS objectives. The librarian or media specialist can work in conjunction with the teacher to develop ideas and projects for the students to explore the topics using technology and ensuring that the standards and objectives are met.

Please note that I am a student at this time and not a librarian. I am an 8th grade U.S. History teacher in Texas.
